I too have just received my L mount for my X2DII...
I too have just received my L mount for my X2DII and it fits perfectly, battery release is quite straightforward and unaffected by the bracket, so not sure why John had a problem. Two benefits to the RRS product over cheaper alternatives. 1 - The vertical of the L is formed from a single machined part rather than a two part assembly (using two bolts to hold the right-angle together). This makes the bracket far more rigid and dependable 2 - The vertical part of the L Bracket is shifted towards the rear of the camera which means you can slide open the covers over the ports and access the USB-C and/or memory card without having to loosen part of the bracket. This feature also offers a little more protection to the LH side of the rear display. All in all it's an excellent product and highly recommended.

The L bracket for the Hasselblad X2D does not fit...
The L bracket for the Hasselblad X2D does not fit the X2Dii. It blocks the release of the battery. To change battery you must loosen the L bracket, change battery, and then tighten the bracket. I cannot see how Jaki in review below gets it to work on the X2Dii. Rating would be 5 on the X2D but not the X2Dii.

Have used this L-plate for my X2D, and now three years later, with the new X2D ii, problem free. The black anodization surface is extremely tough, not a single scratch has penetrated it, in sharp contrast to the inferior coatings on the Hasselblad bodies (regrettably).
