TFCX-14 Field Grade

The TFCX-14 Field Grade Tripod offers the same Series 1 carbon fiber construction, 4-section crossover design, and real-world stability as our standard TFCX-14—at a reduced price due to minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect performance. Field Grade products are built to the same mechanical standards and load ratings as our premium tripods, providing a cost-effective option for users who prioritize function over finish.

Field Grade tripods may show small visual blemishes, finish variation, or other non-structural cosmetic defects while retaining full strength, rigidity, and usability. They are returnable within 30 days and covered by our standard 5-year RRS warranty, giving you professional-grade tripod performance with added value—subject to limited, first-come, first-served availability based on production and inspection runs.

Series 1 Stability for Optics and Gear

Built on a Series 1 carbon fiber chassis, the TFCX-14 delivers the same crossover stability the TFCX line is known for in a more compact 4-section format. High-strength carbon tubes and a precision-machined apex work together to resist flex and torsional twist when supporting optics or other mounted equipment, keeping your view and alignment steady across a wide range of positions.

** Standard tripod shown. All Field Grade tripods will have the RRS Field Grade logo on the top of the leg.

Dialed for Kneeling, Seated, and Ground-Level Use

With a maximum height of 48.38" (122.89 cm) and a minimum height down to 3.30" (8.38 cm), the TFCX-14 is tuned for practical working positions. It excels in kneeling and seated configurations on uneven ground or confined spaces, while still dropping low enough for ground-level setups when conditions demand a minimal profile.

Four-Section Legs for Added Height

By moving to a four-section leg design, the TFCX-14 collapses to just 17.25" (43.82 cm), making it easier to strap to a pack, stash in a vehicle, or move through tight terrain. At only 36.50 oz (1035 g), it keeps overall kit weight low for long approaches, extended days outside, or multi-location sessions where every ounce and cubic inch matters.

Fast 4-Section Deployment with True Low-Angle Support

Independent leg angles and low-profile twist locks let the TFCX-14 move quickly from folded carry to a stable platform, even on steep or uneven ground. Its ultra-low minimum height enables prone and near-ground use, while the four leg sections offer fine control over height and stance so you can work around brush, rocks, obstacles, and real-world terrain instead of fighting your support.

Crossover Apex for RRS Heads and Accessories

The TFCX-14 shares the crossover apex design of the TFCX family, offering a standard 3/8"-16 mounting stud and access to the RRS taper mount for Anvil-30 and other compatible heads. This makes it easy to configure a single tripod for multiple roles, with interchangeable feet and accessories that let you tailor traction and handling to rock, soil, or hard surfaces without changing supports.

American-Built Carbon Fiber for Harsh Environments

Designed, machined, and assembled in the USA, the TFCX-14 is built from premium carbon fiber and precision aluminum components to stand up to sand, dust, moisture, and repeated use. Weather-resistant leg locks and tight tolerances help keep operation smooth over time, so your tripod remains trusted gear season after season rather than a consumable accessory.
