I just received the MC-LS Universal L-Set today for my Nikon D7500. I had searched everywhere for an L bracket that wouldn't twist (and tried several) when using my Sigma 150-600mm telephoto and would also allow me to use my intervalometer when shooting Milkyway landscapes using my wide-angle lens without removing the L bracket. This bracket adapted perfectly to my camera and meets all my requirements. It is well thought out and constructed beautifully. Admittedly, I was reluctant to spend this much on an L bracket without knowing for certain it would work but I am very happy I made the decision to purchase this. This L bracket should adapt well to future camera bodies I might get thus making it a truly universal L bracket. It's not often you find a product marketed as 'universal' that doesn't have several shortcomings in its design, but this bracket is great.

Review of RRS MC-LS Universal L-Bracket I bought this for my OM Systems OM1 camera. Seems RRS have given up on OM Systems latest cameras, thanks RRS. I have used RRS products on previous cameras and had no issues. But this product missed the mark for me. It is described as universal “with unmatched adaptability” to quote their website. Yet there is no information from RRS about which cameras are compatible or are not. They must have used a decent selection of cameras during the design process, but you end up being the beta tester. At the very least, I would have expected RRS to provide some camera compatibility information. Did the bracket fit my OM1? Yes, but the built-in loop for a hand strap stops the battery door from opening! That might be a showstopper for some of you, but I usually have my cameras plugged into an external battery. Alternatively, I might just file off the loop! I’ve decided to keep this bracket as it does fit some of my other cameras and it is significantly lighter than custom brackets which I feel are getting seriously overweight for use with lighter mirrorless cameras. I was able to test this bracket across a variety of cameras. Absolute requirement for me is that anti-twist flange plate must do its job. Less important is access to the camera’s battery/card. Please note that I don’t examine how the L bracket affects the flexibility of the rear screen or interfere with external cables. *Big-fat No: Canon 5D IV: No – the curved body shape around the lens mount prevents the anti-twist flange plate from functioning correctly. Olympus E-M II: No – the asymmetrical shape of the body around the lens mount prevents the anti-twist flange plate from functioning correctly. Olympus E-PL7: No – Tripod thread too close to front of camera prevents the anti-twist flange plate from functioning correctly. *Conditional Yes - It fits but you won’t have access to the battery/card: Canon M5 Canon M6II Olympus E-M10 II Panasonic DMC-GM5 – Surprised it worked except for the battery/card problem. *Simple Yes – it fits and you have access to the battery: Canon R5: Canon R7: Nikon Z8: RRS, if you read these reviews, how about incentivizing customs to give you feedback about this product’s compatibility? Provide them with a link where they can tell you if the bracket works or not and ask for a photograph of the set-up. In return, for example, offer a 5 or 10% discount on their next purchase? An informed customer will provide more positive sales experiences and fewer returns.

This is a brilliantly designed L plate, but unfortunately, I can't open and shut the battery door with my Nikon Zf camera. This isn't the fault of the L plate, just the design of the Zf. The piece on the end of the plate, which is designed for a strap, would need to be removed in order to be used with the Zf . I will still keep this L-Plate for a future camera though. I would have given this plate an easy 5 star rating without the battery compartment issue. RRS may consider making a modification for this plate for cameras like the Zf where accessing the battery compartment is blocked. RRS gear is the best. The L-Set for my Fuji XT-5 is perfect! It even has a grip attached.

I'm not really crazy about Universal Brackets, I do have to give credit to the RRS MC-LS Bracket. I currently can't find an L-Bracket that is specific for the Nikon ZF, however, the MC-LS fits my Nikon ZF very well, with or without the Smallrig Grip attached to the Camera. RRS makes great Camera equipment, and the MC-LS is no exception, if you're looking for an L-Bracket for your ZF Camera, this item will do the Job, the only thing that can be better is a 1-piece L-Bracket, with a built in Grip, and unfortunately, nothing like that exist yet, however, should RRS produce such an item, I'll be the 1st person in line to purchase it.
