Understanding RRS® Tripod Series'

Each RRS® tripod series is built around a specific leg tube diameter, which we've numbered from 0 to 3, occasionally limited edition series 4 (1.603" diameter). Each size along with the length directly influence stiffness, vibration damping, and how much weight the tripod can comfortably support. Lighter tubes favor packability and travel, while larger diameters deliver maximum stability for heavy optics and demanding conditions. Choosing the right tube size ultimately comes down to your shooting style, load, and terrain, so match your tripod series to the stability, height, and portability your specific needs and environment demand.

Versa Tripods

Versa tripods are built around a modular apex platform that can be removed and replaced with compatible RRS Versa apex accessories. This allows the same tripod to be configured for leveling bases, quick-columns, and other support solutions.

• 3/8" mounting stud for attaching tripod heads.
• Removable platform compatible with Versa apex accessories.
• Spirit level for fast leveling.
• Pull-tab angle stops with multiple leg angles.
• SureGrip™ set screws secure the apex accessory.
• Weight hook for ballast or accessories.

Tip: Check SureGrip set screws periodically to confirm the apex accessory remains secure.

Ultralight Tripods

Ultralight tripods use a fixed apex design for a compact, mobile-friendly system that’s ideal for lightweight or highly portable setups.

• 3/8" mounting stud for tripod heads.
• 1/4"-20 accessory socket.
• Pull-tab angle stops with multiple leg angles.
• Strap lug for the removable strap.

Note: If using the set screw to secure a head, tightening may mar the head base. For semi-permanent installation without set screws, use one drop of blue/medium-strength threadlocker on the stud during installation.

TFCX Tripods

The TFCX line is designed for users who want a compact, lightweight carbon fiber tripod that deploys fast and holds steady in low-profile positions. It excels in seated and kneeling use, tight terrain, and mobile field scenarios where packability and stability are more important than maximum height.

TFCT-Anvil Tripods

TFCT-Anvil tripods are purpose-built systems where the Anvil-30 ball head fits directly into the taper of the TFCT apex. This integrated design creates a streamlined, rigid platform optimized for hunters, long-range shooters, military, and law enforcement use.

Tripod & Monopod Accessories

Expand your system with RRS accessories designed to improve stability, speed, and adaptability — from leveling bases to replacement feet and QD transport solutions.

• Leveling Bases: Leveling bases provide approximately ±15–20° of adjustment and lock solidly, creating an ideal foundation for gimbals, pano gear, and ball heads. Choose flat platform (PF) options for direct mounting or clamp versions for quick-change convenience.
• Quick-Columns: Quick-columns add height without extending legs and are a fast solution when you need a small increase in working height.
• Interchangeable Feet: Swap rubber feet for Rock Claws or Foot Spikes to maintain traction on rock, dirt, and uneven terrain.
