Crafted for precision shooters and hunters who demand rapid yet rock-solid positioning.
The RRS® Anvil-30 ARC Ball Head
The Anvil-30 ARC combines an innovative lever-lock ball mechanism with a dual Arca/Picatinny clamp, delivering fast, repeatable control for tactical and field shooting applications. Its low-profile architecture keeps mass close to the tripod apex for maximum stability under recoil, while the integrated RRS Dovetail and Picatinny compatibility give you flexibility across rifles, bipods, and glassing setups. With intuitive, one-handed operation and user-adjustable jaw width for third-party rails, the Anvil-30 is purpose-built to keep your rifle locked in and on target when speed and precision matter most.
Looking for the right tripod to pair with your Anvil-30? Our integrated TFCT series tripods come with the Anvil-30 built in.
Dual Jaw for Picatinny and Arca Compatibility
Dual-purpose jaws support both Arca-Swiss dovetails and Picatinny rails, enabling seamless use across rifles, bipods, and glassing heads in a single support system. This flexibility is ideal for shooters who regularly transition between rail types in PRS, hunting, or tactical environments.

Lever-Lock Ball Control for Rapid Precision
A lever-lock mechanism, inspired by RRS lever-release clamps, provides intuitive one-handed tension control with clear visual open/lock indicators. The design delivers instant, sag-free locking of the 30 mm ball up to ±30° tilt, enabling fast, precise corrections in dynamic shooting conditions.
Rapid Lever-Release with Effortless Top-Loading
A patented clamp lever allows finger-force gear swaps and true one-motion top-loading, so plates and rails can be dropped in from above without fighting side-entry clearance. This speeds up transitions between rifles, optics, and accessories while preserving a secure, positive lock.

Seamless Arca Compatibility with RRS Precision
The integrated clamp is built around the 1.5" RRS Dovetail Standard, delivering a strong, repeatable interface with Arca-style plates and rails. This ensures consistent registration and clamp security across RRS support gear and many third-party Arca-compatible accessories.
User-Adjustable Jaw Width via Crown Dial
A tool-free crown dial lets you fine-tune jaw width to fit a wider range of third-party plates and rails that may not match RRS tolerances exactly. This on-the-fly adjustability helps maintain secure clamping across diverse setups without sacrificing speed or confidence.

Low Center of Gravity for Maximum Stability
The 30 mm ball sits low in the housing to keep your rifle’s center of mass close to the tripod apex, reducing leverage and torsional stress on the system. This geometry improves rigidity under recoil and helps drive vibration into the carbon fiber legs for more effective damping.
RRS-LOCK with Built-In Safety Stops
RRS-LOCK mechanical safety stops interface with compatible rails to prevent unintentional slides or drops during movement or recoil. This added retention gives extra assurance for military, law enforcement, and serious hunting applications where gear security is non-negotiable.

Laser-Engraved Scale for Consistent Positioning
High-visibility millimeter markings along the clamp face support precise, repeatable plate placement. This makes it easy to return to known positions for long-range, glassing, or night setups where consistent balance and eye relief are critical.
Dual High-Visibility Bubble Levels
Dual luminescent bubble levels on the front and back of the clamp help right- and left-handed shooters confirm level quickly, even in low light. Minimizing rifle cant improves downrange accuracy and speeds up setup in time-sensitive scenarios.

I use this Ball Head to Hunt Predators long Range.
I use this Ball Head to Hunt Predators long Range. This is my 3rd Anvil 30. I bought this one for my son to use. It is easier for him to run over other Ball heads. I found success on the very first use. 350 yard shot on a 3" target. I highly recommend this as I prefer this one over my other ball head and it stays home to prove it. Hence the reason for purchasing this one. I did notice this one was a bit grittier than the previous two that I have purchased. However, I used the cleaning cloth and tried my best to clean it and that helped a ton! Only con is the price. However, I have 1000's of hours and countless revolution scanning 360 degrees and only one small issue of losing the level. So it has definitely survived my torture test and has far exceeded my expectations. Which is Hard to do. Thank you RRS for making a great Product. I've been running them since 2018.

Ease of use and quality of construction
I switched from a regular, multi knob ballhead to the Anvil 30. This thing is easier to use, and made beautifully. I’ll use the other ballhead for a spotter or other optic, but this Anvil will stay paired with my guns.

This is the best head for shooting off of, clip in or tac table bag it. There is not a faster more adjustable head made.

Anvil-30 ARC with R-Lock
I purchased the Anvil-30 ARC along with a SOAR Rail. Both together utilize the R-Lock locking system with a pin in the ball head clamp which engages holes in the bottom of the RRS/ARCA rail. Pros: >> The Ball Head with integrated RRS/Picatinny clamp and multiple attachment methods to the tripod are very elegant. The #3 adapter is 70mm and will fit many 70mm-standard non-RRS tripods. This is only mentioned briefly in the adapter video, so a good thing to be aware of. Cons: The top locking lever for the RRS/Pic rail clamp has a couple of questionable features: >> The lever has three positions: Tightened, Sliding, and Released. The lever locks in the fully tightened position and the little nub which must be pressed to release is tiny. I'm not sure it could be released with gloves on. At least, there is an option to disable the lock with some fiddly disassembly and reassembly of the locking arm. >> In the sliding position (clamp half open so rail can't be removed) the R-Lock pin does NOT RETRACT, so the rail DOES NOT SLIDE! Again, the tiny locking nub can be pressed to retract the pin but doing so is not easy. It is hard to understand a Sliding position which does not allow the rail to slide! >> More of a comment on the rail, but my rifles all have 17" forends, but the longest R-Lock rail is only 13-1/2 inches.
