Overview
Nikon's extremely popular AF-S VR & VR II 70-200mm/f2.8 lens has one weakness: its thin aluminum plate mount on the lens collar. This is where the removable lens collar foot slides onto the collar. It doesn't take a lot of tripod use before normal torque causes this thin plate to become deformed. Ever noticed that your foot seems loose, even though that knob is locked down? Check the condition of the plate mount on your lens collar, then order our LCF-10P.
Our LCF-10P comes with the correct size hex key to install the replacement screws. However, the original Nikon screws require a special #00 JIS-compatible screwdriver. If you don't own this tool, consider adding our MTX Multi-Tool (listed under Related Items at left). If you don't use the correct tool to remove the Nikon screws, it is extremely easy to strip the screw head.
Our robust LCF-10P (2.5X the thickness of the Nikon plate mount) fits both versions of this lens (original VR and newer VR-II). This
