  1. Will Really Right Stuff ballheads work with Gitzo tipods?

Certainly-we match these two over and over on a daily basis. Gitzo tripods come with a dual 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded stud so compatibility is not an issue.
  1. Can I fold my GT1541t legs completely with the BH-30 attached?
Absolutely- In fact thats why the BH-30 was made.
  1. My BH-40 LR/LR II has a problem. The T-Lever will not clear my wide tripod platform. What do I do?
If you pull out the T-Lever you will notice it is spring loaded. All you have to do is pull the T-Lever out and reposition the lever so it can clear your wide platform.
  1. I can't tell if the item I want to order is in stock. Why do some items display stock status and other items do not?
An individual item, like a plate or a clamp, will always display stock status. But "kits" that are composed of multiple inventory items do not. We are working with our systems software provider to find a solution. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to call us or email us to determine stock status for any item.
  1. Why should I purchase a Versa Tripod?
  1. Not only does this SUREGRIP APEX LOCK give you a visual safety indicator but also the solid aluminum apex has a high strength stainless steel ring that mechanically locks into place with set screws—You have to remove the 3 set screws to remove the platform or the center column so there is simply no chance of the platform or center column popping out.
  2. The OFFSET LEG JOINTS are also superior to Gitzo with our RATCHETING ANGLE STOP for 3 locked positions.  They are smooth compared to the rigid, at times too sharp, Gitzo leg joints.  This also allows you to get down low to the ground (4.5 inches on TVC-33, 4.0 inches on 23/4).
  3. Of course our RUBBER TWIST LOCKS are very similar to Gitzo.
  4. Another great component is the large size of our TEARDROP RUBBER FEET—the feet will have positive contact with the ground in ALL positions, protecting the legs.
  5. We also anodize ALL aluminum parts to give greater wear, puncture and corrosion resistance compared to POWDER COATING.  All steel components on RRS tripods are STAINLESS.

The carbon fiber (CF)  incorporated in RRS tripods is simply the best.  Mr. Johnson shopped around for the best possible carbon fiber available (nearly a 3 year process).  These CF legs are BIG and THIN—huge outer diameter and a wall thickness of only .04 inches—that gives our tripods the best strength to weight ratio on the market—far surpassing Gitzo.
  7. Not only is our CF extremely lightweight…it’s STRONG.  In a 3-point crush test our CF withstood a central load nearly double our closest competitor (Gitzo).
