Quantum Qflash T4D mounted on BH-25 ballhead on lightstand (Qflash & lightstand not available from Really Right Stuff). Flash is triggered with wireless transmitter.

We offer a number of flash accessories for getting your flash off the camera and mounting it remotely, either on a flash bracket that mounts to the camera, on a lightstand, or on a spare tripod.
Put your Qflash® on a Lightstand
A Quantum Qflash is a terrific flash for portrait and group shots. It has more power than a typical hotshoe strobe, and with its "Sensor Limit" feature, it delivers accurate subject exposures. But how to mount it? First, install our Quantum adaptor to your Qflash (the T4d & T5d/T5d-R accept our FA-Q2); the adaptor matches the curved bottom of the Qflash on its topside and is flat on the bottom. Then mount a B76 plate to the bottom of the adaptor (the adaptor has several ¼”-20 accessory sockets); this provides a dovetail mount so that the Qflash can be clamped into the BH-25 Pro ballhead. The flash can then be easily aimed, at any angle, to your subject. Shooting Tip: Learn to use the Auto mode on the Qflash, and trigger it wirelessly (image at left shows PocketWizard™ mounted to top of Qflash with velcro).

Put Your Strobe on a Lightstand or Tripod
The same thing can be done with any hotshoe strobe. Simply use our FA-CS3 cold shoe mount. Now you can mount your strobe on a lightstand or spare tripod. Image at right shows a Nikon SB-800 strobe (with optional fifth battery installed) mounted in a FA-CS3 cold shoe, and then clamped into our BH-25 Pro ballhead. The strobe is being triggered wirelessly with a PocketWizard™.
