B-Series Flash Brackets

Flash Bracket Mounts to Telephoto Lens Plate

Our B-Series Flash Brackets are designed to mount to the Really Right Stuff quick-release lens plate that you install on the foot of your tripod collar. They come in three sizes—the size you choose is best determined by not only lens proportions, but also personal preference.

  • Select the smallest bracket that will clear your lens if you prefer to keep the flash low and close.
  • Select a larger bracket if you prefer to maximize the vertical distance between strobe head and lens.

B-Series Flash Bracket Features

Mount without Tools

B-Series Flash Brackets feature a built-in quick-release clamp for tool-less mounting. Simply open the clamp and slide onto any dovetailed rail and tighten the knob. Rails must have a double-dovetail design; click here to find out what a double-dovetail is.

Orbiting Tilt Flash Mount

Tilting Flash Mount

Sliding flash mount can be positioned anywhere along the hoop. Simply unlock the round locking knob on the front of the mount and push the head to the position you prefer. Silky-smooth operation and positive detents allow the flash mount to snap into position "on the go."

Our flash mounts permit downward tilt for better beam coverage in closeup work; tilt and lock at any angle down to 90°. Simply unlock the locking T-lever to allow the mount to tilt. Flash mount also tilts slightly backwards for tilting the strobe up.

Flash mounts precisely accept a standard Nikon or Canon "off-camera" strobe cord. Buy our custom adaptors to fit Quantum Qflash, some Metz models, Nikon SB-R200 Speedlights, and Nikon SC-29 strobe cord. See our Flash Accessories at left for a complete list of adaptors.

Which flash bracket fits your lens?

Follow the steps in the below image, and choose a bracket with an interior clearance dimension that will accommodate your lens.

What is a double-dovetail?

This is a double-dovetail

FB-A shown mounted on legacy Really Right Stuff lens plate without double-dovetail design. FB-A mounts with ¼"-20 stainless steel screws.

Lens plates and rails with double-dovetails look like the image at left where the 45° angle is mirrored top and bottom. If your telephoto lens plate does not incorporate a double-dovetail, add our FB-A dovetail adaptor. The FB-A accessory retrofits your existing lens plates to use our flash brackets. Mount the FB-A on any lens plate from Really Right Stuff or Kirk—use both screws for our plates, use single screw for Kirk plates (all Wimberley lens plates already have the double-dovetail design). Use this new dovetail for mounting our B-Series Flash Brackets.
