Flash Bracket Mounts to Telephoto Lens Plate
Use our B-Series flash brackets with your telephoto lenses that have their own rotating tripod collars. Our B-Series flash brackets mount to the Really Right Stuff quick-release lens plate that you install on the foot of your tripod collar. These flash brackets keep the strobe directly over the barrel of the lens even when camera is rotated in the tripod collar.
Telephoto lenses with tripod collars vary widely in size. Smaller telephotos, like the Nikkor 70-200mm/f2.8 VR lens pictured at right, can accept a B-Series flash bracket with a smaller arc. But a large 500mm lens has a larger barrel and needs a B-Series flash bracket with a larger arc. Luckily, our B-Series flash brackets come in three sizes—the size you choose is best determined by not only lens proportions, but also personal preference. Learn more about the B85-QR (small), the B87-QR (medium), or the B91-QR (large).
Our B-Series Flash Brackets can accept multiple flash mounts for use with more than one strobe. Flash extenders broaden the range of possible lighting angles.

Choose the Right Flash Bracket for Your Telephoto Lens
- Select the smallest bracket that will clear your lens if you prefer to keep the flash low and close.
- Select a larger bracket if you prefer to maximize the vertical distance between strobe head and lens.
Remember, the foot on your collared lens needs its own Really Right Stuff lens plate (or replacement foot) in order to use our flash brackets. From our Telephoto Lens Mount page
, choose the manufacturer of your lens, then drill down to your specific lens. The detailed description for each lens plate or replacement foot will list the smallest flash bracket that will fit your lens.
To determine the minimum size bracket that will clear your lens, follow the steps below, then choose from our smallest B85-B, or mid-sized B87-B, or largest B91-B bracket.
