Reducer bushing 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20.
Most clamps have one centralized 3/8"-16 mounting socket. For those who wish to mate to a 1/4"-20 stud, we offer a custom stainless steel reducer bushing that screws into the clamp’s socket. This reduces the socket size from 3/8-inch to 1/4-inch.
To prevent the bushing from backing out or rotating, secure ("glue in place") with Loctite type 242 (blue fluid; non-permanent) threadlocking liquid. Put a drop of the blue fluid in the 3/8-ths socket, then thread the bushing in (wipe off any excess). Orient bushing with screwdriver slot facing out (to aid removal, if needed). Allow to cure for a few hours before using. Buy Loctite 242 at any auto parts or hardware store. The blue fluid is non-permanent.
