Nikon’s extremely popular 70-200mm lens has one weakness: its thin aluminum plate mount on the lens collar. This is where the removable lens collar foot slides onto the collar. It doesn’t take a lot of tripod use before normal torque causes this thin plate to become deformed. Ever noticed that your foot seems loose, even though that knob is locked down? Check the condition of the plate mount on your lens collar, then order our LCF-10P.
Our LCF-10P comes with the correct size hex key to install the replacement screws. However, the original Nikon screws require a special #00 JIS-compatible screwdriver. If you don't own this tool, consider adding our MTX Multi-Tool (listed under Related Items at left). If you don't use the correct tool to remove the Nikon screws, it is extremely easy to strip the screw head.

Our robust LCF-10P (2.5X the thickness of the Nikon plate mount) fits both versions of this lens (original VR and newer VR-II). This plate is guaranteed to be compatible with our LCF-10 Replacement Foot (see related items at left) -
it may not allow mounting of the Nikon foot or replacement feet from other manufacturers.
Comes with all necessary screws and hex key for installation (use JIS or "00" Phillips screwdriver to remove Nikon screws - not included).
Screws required for installation (included) are version-specific, so make sure you read the installation manual. Screw heads are very small and easily damaged, so seat tools precisely and take care not to strip screw heads.
