This unique custom plate offers new features and functionality never before seen in any Really Right Stuff quick-release plate. Its modular design allows for the greatest flexibility in use: use base plate alone, or use L-plate with snug fit to side of camera, or use L-plate in its extended position to provide the best possible port & cable clearance. Making changes from one configuration to another is made convenient by the included hex key tool that is stored in the base plate. We are excited about this revolutionary L-plate design!

The B1DX-L assembly was designed to meet our high standards of functionality and aesthetics. It was an especially challenging design considering the rather wide positioning of the 1D X side ports.

Over the past year, Really Right Stuff has significantly increased its implementation of Finite Element Analysis software. FEA allows us to design structural components, like the B1DX-L upright section, for the best possible combination of weight and strength. In one of our more exhaustive analyses, the B1DX-L plate assembly performed better (in terms of body deflection under load) than some of our more current pro camera body L-plates. We are confident that users of the B1DX-L plate will not have to compromise their work to accommodate its new design, but rather will find that it simplifies and greatly enhances their work.
